As far back as I can remember I have been fascinated with photography. My interest developed when I got my first digital camera, and some years later the camera phone was unleashed making it so easy to snap away whenever and wherever. It is only now, at the age of 27, that I have realized that I want photography to be my career.
My creative eye far outweighs my technical abilities. I am always finding inspiration from everyday objects and situations, and in my mind I can clearly see the image I want to create. Reaching that final result is easier said than done.
At this present moment it is just me and my Nikon. As much as I would love to have the latest gadgets, flashes, macro lenses, wide-angle lenses etc, I don’t even own a tripod yet!! However, I’ve always been a strong believer that with the right knowledge and creativity, some of the best and most aspiring photographs are captured in the simplicity of a good eye, improvisation and a camera.
Entering the age of modern technology has been a very daunting experience, mainly because I LOVE mess! I feel comfortable surrounded by my dis-organised pile – books strewn across my coffee table, crumpled up pieces of paper that I’ve scribbled some random ideas on and found at the bottom of my handbag, but most importantly a pen and paper. So leaping into the world of blogs – where there is no mess, just a ‘cyberfied’ neat and tidy narrative of how I got from A to Z and everything in between is still very new to me…
